15/08/2022. Monday morning.

It has been a while since I last updated this news letter. Today is 15 August 2022. Almost eight years since I last updated this page.
Many has happened in the last eight years but I would just like to go over the last two years living with Covid. It totally changed the way I think and believe in business today. So many lessons learned but getting back into business after this isn’t easy. Many businesses and people lost everything. This was something no one could imagine and or prepare for. Something movies are made of. What you have today can be gone tomorrow. There are so many things that can shape our tomorrow. I for one have learned a lot over the last two years. Whatever is throwed at you, learn to adapt and work around it. Keep your eyes on your goals and never let go.

10 April 2013.

It has been over 2 months since I last updated the web site. Time flies so quickly and business are keeping us so busy. I wish I have more time to share more of what happens at Rycor Services.

Rycor Services is going through a transition stage trying to settle ourselves in the market of Managing bigger sites more cost effective. We get more and more Construction Companies requesting our services with many tenders out for review.  We have a full infrastructure of 120 people on site in Hatfield with all the necessary supervision and safety teams playing an integrate part in completing the new GCIS Building. We are far from being a big corporate company but we will get there. We just have to endure the test of time. We are open for new legitimate business opportunities and will appreciate any new ventures.

We at Rycor Services are devoted to work and to make a success of each and every project we take on. Please feel free to contact me for more detail.

I previously introduced you to Martin Janse Van Rensburg. Martin is a expert in the IT world and takes care of all IT requirements at Rycor Services. Martin is a devoted IT specialist and I am glad to have him as a friend. Martin sorts out any computer equipment and he recovered data for me that I thought was impossible. I can only say that I am privilege to know him.

Tarlton Raceway Nationals.

I entered the National drag racing for the first time. We joined hands with
Belrex Racing as dual sponsors. We entered the Toyota of Samuel (Seun) and the Rycor Nissan 1400. Unfortunately we couldn't get the Ford Escort of Dirk van der Westhuizen running as we didn't receive the differential from America. It is a very existing venture and we hope to rich our goals.
All the best to Dirk and Sean at Belrex Racing.
For enquiries on very quick cars contact Dirk van der Westhuizen. 0714819579.

21 NOVEMBER  2012.

Isn't it difficult to survive in South Africa.

One of my neighbors reported me to the City Council complaining that we do business on the premises. This isn't the case. We are in the Building Maintenance Business and we work away on sites in South Africa. We are just busy people and we don’t sit around waiting for things to happen. We make things happened.

I was advised by one of my very good business friend to remove this letter from the web site.

08 May 2012.

We have taken the chance in 2011 to enter the market of Working @ Heights.
We bought the first Scan Lift Cherry Picker in January 2011 with little knowledge of the industry. We bought the second Scan Lift shortly after and we have purchased yet another Scan Lift Cherry Picker. We prove that we are a reliable company when it comes “ Working @ Heights” and we are working to build up a fleet to be in the market as the company to call on. We also entered into the “Rope Accessing” trade and hope to get ourselves settled in the market very soon.

27 May 2011.

We are five months into 2011.

We completed the contract work in March at the South African National Road Agency Ltd and it turned out to be a very profitable exercise. It provided us with the opportunity to purchase another Scan Lift Cherry Picker. We also ordered two more Scan Lifts and we hope to have it in operation to the end of August this year.

We realized that we would need our own Roll Back to get our equipment and machinery from point A to B and back. We made use of Rieks Towing to move our equipment around and I thank them for a great service.

I spoke to Mr. Louwrence Riekert from Rieks Towing who is in the business of building recovery units and I made the decision to purchase a brand new 2011, Toyota Hino 500 with a Century Roll Back load body. It will be perfect to move our equipment, machinery and vehicles around and at the same time offer a service to the trade. We are not new to the transport sector as this is how Rycor Services started off. The new unit will ensure that we can make good on the 24/7 service we offer to the Emergency Rescue Services, Recovery Services, Rigging and Lifting Services and in general where Working at Height is needed. It would safe valuable time on responding to emergencies.

We are very positive that we can handle any situation in this field as we have proof ourselves over the last few months to be professional and valuable to the trade.

RYCOR SERVICES LATEST INVESTMENT TO THE TRADE.

Sanral Outside

Rycor Services is involved with the final earthworks at the new head quarters at (Sanral) South African National Roads Agency Limited. We started the project on 10 January 2011 with a completion date on 21 February 2011.

We recently purchased two Scan Lifts for working at heights. We can reach 18Lm high with an overhang of 8Lm radius.

The Scan Lift is a self driven 4x4 multi steer machine capable of going places no other platform lift can go. This makes the Scan Lift very handy at new building sites where the terrain is uneven and still under construction. The Scan Lift can be leveled to work safely in rough terrains due to its system of leveling outriggers.

The Scan Lift has a capacity of 230kg and can easily carry two persons and approximately 70 kg of tools.

The Scan Lift is so maneuverable that we drove it up the stairs from outside right into the reception area of the building. The Scan Lift clears an opening of 2 x 2.3Lm.
